I hate not riding my bike

 

Anxiety, depressed moods, joint aches, lack of energy, and sleep problems.  These are all side effects of obesity… and of me being off of my bike.  Thanks to the lady who hit me with her bright red Dodge Durango I haven’t been on my bike for over a month.  I find it strangely ironic that what I feel (being health and active) when I’m taking a break from the bike is the same thing that those who sit around and live a life of stagnation. 

 

Well I got the bike back.  Finally, and am still chasing down this lady for money from damages.  Unfortunately the weather has proved a larger challenge than I am prepared to face (hurricanes and nor’easters).

But with the weather taking a turn for the better (it’s still raining outside).  My bike still sits and waits… soon bike soon.

Planes trains and automobiles

Well I got hit by my first car yesterday. Apparently bright yellow and green are colors that camouflage cyclists from traffic. No hard feelings though; the lady that hit me is paying for all of my bike repairs. Unfortunately I didn’t get too much road rash so I’m not even going to waste my time putting a picture of it up here. Just when I was getting back into shape too… what a pity.

Le Tour de France

Well a few days ago Riccardo Ricco, an Italian rider for the Saunier Duval team tested positive for EPO making him the third rider this year to get booted from the Tour for doping. Oh, and his team is no longer in the race either…

Ricco’s nickname is The Snake… or cobra or something along those lines because he is always ready to strike… at least that’s what they say. The more I get into the cycling world the more I realize that people have all of these wacky animal names (ie. the snake, the chicken, and lots others I can’t think of). If I could come up with my own nickname I think I would have to use something that would strike fear into the hearts of all my competitors. These are what I came up with:

1. Puma
2. Walrus
3. Unicorn
4. Sasquatch
5. Phoenix
6. Chupacabra…

Chupathingy, how bout that? I like it, it’s got a ring to it…

Hello world!

I decided to create this blag in order to poke fun at my long time hetero-life-partner who recently endeavored to make some wacky blog about all of his crazy adventures through academia.  However just as I type that first sentence of my first blag I realize that blagging is crazy awesome fun! Wooohoooo!

I hope everyone that will read this enjoys off topic thoughts because that is what this is most likely going to turn into.

Off topic:  The default first post that wordpress gives you is titled “Hello world!”… I think it silly that they would choose this because I would rather them say something like “Hello creepy realm of online blog readers and others who don’t have anything better to do right now!” But alas, we are stuck with “Hello world!”.  The traditional introductory program any programmer learns has invaded the blogging world.  Just in case you don’t know what I’m talking about and for some reason can’t figure out how to google this idea, here’s a link to our favorite source of credible information, WikiPedia.

In case you were wondering, my first program was written in C++ and was one of these great hello world programs.  Here’s the code for it if you care:
